Jacqueline Ferrante

Brooklyn, New York

Jacqueline Ferrante works with acrylic, concrete, locally-sourced raw pigment, coffee, plaster and wine to create abstracts that explore a physical connection to place and the passage of time.
Jacqueline Ferrante is a visual artist based in New York and Italy. Her work stems from her acute fascination with surfaces often overlooked in our urban and natural environments. Through various mark-making techniques, she captures the essence of these surfaces and creates abstracts that explore a physical connection to place and the passage of time. Her work calls up nostalgia, ephemera, and the dichotomy between beauty and imperfection.

Inspired by the work of artists Bosco Sodi, Michelle Stuart, Mark Rothko, and Kadar Brock, Jacqueline is continually drawn to the concept of space, land, and impermanence. Art is an expression of how she connects with and experiences the world. Her process is meditative and intuitive.

Ferrante was raised in Long Island, NY, and earned her Bachelor's degree in Art and Theater from Northeastern University. Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States and Europe. She has completed residencies in New York, Ireland, and Italy.
