Jeff Schaller

Downingtown, Pennsylvania

Jeff Schaller uses acrylic paint to create fun, bold, vibrant pop art and figurative pieces.

Provocative and whimsical, Schaller propels the viewer into scenes of seemingly unrelated subjects, creating his own captivating and complex sonatas. Simultaneously, they are pop and edgy, esoteric and direct. Using acrylic paints, Schaller weaves lost and found images and words to paint with a precision and intricacy not normally found in encaustic paintings. His approach is expressionistic, contemporary, and painterly, with powerful brush strokes that are set instantaneously.

Mr. Schaller, who holds a BFA from Arcadia University, has shown both nationally and internationally, in Chicago, New York, Switzerland, and recently The Coca Cola Museum in Atlanta, Georgia. He is frequently published in magazines and newspapers, chosen for juried art exhibitions and selected for special projects, commissions and murals. Schaller received a highly coveted fellowship from the Common Wealth of Pennsylvania and also the recipient of the prestigious Philadelphia Museum of Art Purchase Award.

Schaller comes from a humble upbringing in the country. After graduating somewhere in the middle of his high school class, he left the countryside to attended Beaver College. Graduated with a graphic design degree after the painting professor told him there was no hope in being a professional painter. Fast forward 30 years, married, three kids, he quits his corporate gig 19 years ago and hasn’t looked back. His paintings have been on the hit tv show Friends and Oprah.
