Kristina Duewell

Breckenridge, Colorado

Kristina Duewell works with palette knives and acrylic mediums on canvas to form texture, and then employs up to 50 layers of dry-brushed oil paint to create depth and detail. Her style is best described as 'lyrical abstraction': vibrant and expressive, dynamic and ethereal.

After designing book covers in New York City and working as an advertising Art Director in the Midwest, Kristina began her professional painting career in 2013. She's been fortunate to call many states home, but her work is most influenced by her time living in Hawaii. The ocean, beaches, sunsets, lava flows, mountains, and the generous spirit of aloha all provide eternal inspiration.

Kristina has shown her work in art galleries across the U.S., and is a featured artist at the top-rated luxury resort, The Grand Colorado on Peak 8 in Breckenridge, Colorado. Several large metal prints of her abstract pieces are on permanent display in the common areas, aquatics center and Infinity Day Spa.

To Kristina, art is a visual experience that expresses emotion. It seeks to understand and be understood. It inspires, provokes, and desires a connection between the artist and viewer.

”My work explores a deeper connection between science and spirituality, and my process is a journey to find the divine within reality. The finished paintings often represent a heavenly and meditative space where celestial scenes meet the natural beauty of earth, and my ultimate goal is to inspire joy, hope, confidence, and serenity.”
