Liz Green uses mixed media, including oils, acrylics, and acetates, to create sculptural butterfly works that celebrate the wonder of transformation and the way light brings art to life.
Liz Green is an artist driven by a lifelong love of beauty, emotion, and transformation.
After earning a degree in Textile and Apparel Design from Cornell University and building a career in the fashion industry, she returned to her first passion—art. Her work is deeply inspired by light, movement, and the quiet strength found in nature, especially the symbolism of butterflies.
Each butterfly, hand-painted on acetate, catches the light in its own way—appearing to lift and move as the day shifts. Beyond their movement and beauty, butterflies hold deep meaning for so many of us: symbols of hope, renewal, and the fragile yet powerful nature of change.
"Art, for me, is connection. It’s a way of expressing what can’t always be said in words—a feeling, a memory, a fleeting moment of beauty. It’s how I process the world around me and share a piece of myself with others. When someone connects with one of my pieces, it feels like our experiences have quietly met, even for a moment. Creating art reminds me to slow down, to look closer, and to appreciate the small, meaningful details that make up our days."
Based in Armonk, NY, Liz Green creates with both heart and intention, bringing sensitivity and joy to everything she makes.
